Sport’ability’ is a project that celebrates and commemorates the unsung skills of Waltham Forest residents. Through a series of workshops and short residencies Dee Honeybun and Scribble and Smudge worked with groups to create and make imaginative sporting activities.
Dee Honeybun and Scribble and Smudge worked with Whitefield Schools and Centre – exploring creative games and making trophies to celebrate the abilities of the young people. Football For Fathers – recording sporting stories, Walthamstow East Childrens Centre – playing imaginative games and celebrating skills with rosette making and the Walthamstow Garden Party with drop in sporting activities. Dee interviewed participants discovering hidden sporting skills. The interviews and video recorded during the workshops were combined with stop motion animation to make a short film documenting the stories and the project.
This project is funded by the Waltham Forest Arts Development Grant.
